Ophthalmology is one of the most dynamically developing fields of veterinary medicine.
At our clinic, we will make sure that your pet can see clearly and without pain.
We offer:
● ophthalmic examination – detailed assessment of the eye (eyelids, conjunctiva, cornea, lens, anterior and posterior chambers, choroid, and fundus)
● ophthalmoscopy – examination of the fundus of the eye
● neurological examination – pupillary and eyelid reflexes
● fluorescein staining – diagnosis of corneal damage (mainly ulcers) and assessment of the patency of the lacrimal system
● Schirmer tear test – allows assessment of the production of the aqueous part of the tear film, enables diagnosis of dry eye syndrome (KCS)
● tonometry – assessment of intraocular pressure – essential in the diagnosis of glaucoma and inflammation of the anterior segment of the eye, particularly important in geriatric patients
● Conjunctival swab – microbiological assessment of bacterial flora – allows to assess the cause of infection and select targeted antibiotic therapy
● Ultrasound of the eyeball and assessment of retrobulbar structures – diagnosis of tumors and abscesses, among other things
● Pharmacological treatment of eye diseases
● Ophthalmic surgery – including correction of entropion, ectropion, papillary inflammation of the third eyelid, repositioning of the dislocated and prolapsed third eyelid gland (cherry eye), third eyelid flap in case of indolent corneal ulcer, eye bulb enucleation, and many others.
