Our practice regularly sees more than dogs and cats. We treat rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, ferrets and small rodents, as well as birds, reptiles and amphibians.
These species need a completely different approach. They respond differently to medication and anaesthesia, they hide pain for far longer, and a large share of their health problems comes directly from how they are kept: temperature, humidity, UVB lighting or diet. That is why our treatment draws not only on veterinary knowledge, but also on an understanding of each species’ biology and behaviour.
Exotic patients are cared for by dr Klaudiusz Szczepaniak DVM PhD, who combines veterinary parasitology with the treatment of amphibians, reptiles and birds. He works alongside a team of vets specialising in small mammals and non-domesticated animals, including Magdalena Pawlikowska and Paulina Jasina.
