Emergency care
Intensive care – Emergency care is a rapidly developing field of veterinary medicine. Thanks to the availability of advanced diagnostic equipment and the training of our veterinary specialists, we offer assistance to the most seriously ill patients and emergency patients who require rapid diagnosis, round-the-clock care, and monitoring of vital functions.
A team of specialists from various fields of veterinary medicine allows us to carry out comprehensive diagnostics and treatment of the most complex emergency cases. Round-the-clock hospital care allows us to continuously monitor vital functions and intervene quickly in the case of unstable, seriously ill or post-traumatic patients, whose condition may change at any time. A specially adapted intensive care unit has been set up for this purpose.
Our clinic offers equipment that allows for continuous monitoring of patients with respiratory disorders, circulatory failure, and multiple organ injuries.
The equipment we have allows us to perform the following on site:
● complete blood cound
● serum biochemistry panel
● electrolyte level tests
● hormone and acute phase protein level test
● blood gas analysis (acid-base imbalance)
● coagulogram (assessment of coagulation disorders)
● tests of various peptide levels
● blood smears
● tests for infectious diseases
● blood pressure reading
● ECG tests
● diagnostic imaging (ultrasound, X-ray)
In the most severely ill patients, we can establish a central line access, which allows for intensive fluid therapy, intravenous drug administration, and parenteral nutrition simultaneously. To ensure proper nutrition, we use various feeding systems (nasal tubes, esophageal-gastric tubes). For safety reasons, drugs and fluids are administered using infusion pumps and syringes. This allows us to administer continuous intravenous infusions to animals that have been placed in a medically induced coma or require continuous infusions of painkillers. In addition, patients are consulted with our team of anesthesiologists to ensure the effective and safe selection of pain management therapy. In patients with respiratory failure, mechanical ventilation can be provided using a ventilator. In the event of sudden cardiac arrest, immediate resuscitation and CPR can be performed thanks to a defibrillator that can be used on both large dogs and small dogs and cats. We also offer surgical intervention at any time.
A team of technicians ensures the comfort of patients by providing nursing and nursing care.
